New Visitor's Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Marine Corp Marathon

by Donna Estin...

Remember how SAD we all were when Arlington closed its permanent visitors center in Pentagon Row?  Well, it's HAPPY TIME again.

Arlington is unveiling a new all-electric Mobile Visitors Center Fri. 10/29 at 12:00 noon during the Marine Corps Marathon Health & Fitness Expo at the Convention Center (801 Mt. Vernon Place in DC)

Mobile - yes!  Arlington is an inclusive community, making sure visitors to the 6 major neighborhoods are visited weekly.  The center will provide visitors with shopping, dining, and entertainment options in Arlington with videos, maps and Metro info.  Thank you Arlington!

Artisphere

To know us is to love us!
Hi I'm Patrick - I used to work as a flight attendant for United Airlines where I learned a great deal of customer service and conflict resolution.  I have traveled to world and it has become one of my greatest passions next to animals.  In my spare time you can find me on the tennis courts practicing my forehands or on a couch watching pointless reality television. Favorite quote: "The greatest education in the world is watching the masters at work.” – Michael Jackson  http://www.bestfriends.org/

The Artisphere is a new cultural center that is located in Rosslyn, Virginia. The new center used to house the old newseum before it moved into Washington D.C. The cultural center will house many different arts companies such as The Washington Shakespeare Company, a 4,000 square foot gallery for art exhibits, and a ballroom which will be used for social dancing.

The Artisphere has its public grand opening on October 10, 2010. The venue is located at 1101 Wilson Boulevard.  It is important to have a place where residents and visitors of the DC Metropolitan Area can come to view the arts all under one roof.

Lia Hollaran will be featured at Artisphere this year. Her past work of “Dark Skate,” can be viewed in this article http://www.huckmagazine.com/blog/halloran-captures-dark/

Golds Gym Night

Hi, I'm Donna.  Get to know us and you'll love us!  I like edgy live theatre, abstract art, bees, progress, Beethoven, human energy, Cain Five wine, hummus, people who try, all living creatures (except mosquitoes), kindness, organization, & rain.   Check out this local charity.  www.aachhomeless.org.  Today's motto "Be nice.  Work hard.  There are no shortcuts."

So Patrick (you'll meet him next) and I camped out in Gold's Gym Ballston Wed. 9/29 for the close out.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth for free pens, Gold's Member Specials, and registering to win a Mercedes GLK and a Cadillac Escalade!  Special thanks to Mustafa, Scott & the whole Golds team for setting us up.  Wow - Gold's Gym must have the most dedicated members!  I might have to check out the zumba classes.
